Two coasts, one drive from Orlando

“Coastal” on this site means two different coasts, and it’s worth being clear about that. Sarasota is on the Gulf Coast, on Sarasota Bay, about two to two and a half hours southwest of downtown Orlando. Melbourne and Cocoa Beach are on the Atlantic side, on the Space Coast in Brevard County, roughly an hour and a quarter to an hour and a half east and southeast. Sarasota and the Space Coast are not neighbors; what they share is salt air, humidity, and the fact that we drive to all of them from Orlando.

We don’t charge a trip fee for that drive, to either coast. Our service area is Central Florida coast to coast, and the process is the same as in Orlando: a price range the same day from a photo of your wall, then a measurement at a time that suits you.

The Gulf side: Sarasota

Sarasota has its own architectural history. The Sarasota School, a regional take on mid-century modernism with open plans and big glass, grew up there between the 1940s and 1960s, and the city still celebrates it with events like the SarasotaMOD festival. It’s also where we built our flagship project: a double-height porcelain slab media wall, finished in July 2026 with a budget of about $30,000.

The Space Coast: Melbourne and Cocoa Beach

On the Atlantic side, the space program shaped the towns. Cocoa Beach grew from a few hundred people in 1950 to nearly ten thousand by 1970 as workers arrived for jobs at the Cape. Melbourne, with downtown on the Indian River Lagoon and the old Eau Gallie district to the north, grew with aviation, defense and space employers. The housing ranges from homes built during the space boom to Viera, a planned community next to Melbourne where construction began around 1990.

Working near salt water

A coastal house doesn’t need exotic materials, but a few details matter. Wood and panel products move with humidity, so we let them acclimate inside the air-conditioned house before installation. Near the ocean or the bay, salt air is hard on exposed steel, so stainless or coated fasteners and hardware are the safer choice. Electrical work for fireplaces and lighting is done by a licensed Florida electrician.

If you’re on either coast, start the same way as everyone else: text us a photo of the wall with a rough width and ceiling height, and we’ll reply with a price range the same day.
