Wood Slat Media Wall with Linear Electric Fireplace in Orlando, FL

The task

Turn a plain wall in an open living area into one TV wall that holds the screen, a fireplace and low storage, and looks finished from every seat in the room.

What we built

The wall is split into three vertical fields. Two tall panels of dark wood slats sit on the sides, and a marble-look panel fills the center, where the TV is mounted. A linear electric fireplace is set into a recessed opening directly under the screen, so the flame line and the TV share the same center line.

Along the bottom runs a floating base cabinet with a wood-tone top. It stops short of the floor, and an LED strip underneath it washes the floor with light. A second strip runs along the top edge of the wall. In the evening the two strips are what make a wall this size feel light instead of heavy.

The TV cables run inside the wall, so nothing hangs below the screen. The fireplace circuit and the lighting were wired by a licensed Florida electrician; our crew did the framing, the panels and all the finish carpentry.

Timeline and budget

Built in 5 working days in May 2026. Project budget: about $13,000 — inside our usual $4,500–16,000 range for TV media walls with a fireplace. The fireplace opening, the two lighting runs and the full-width base cabinet are what put it in the upper half of that range.
