Media Wall with Lit Built-In Shelving and Electric Fireplace in Davenport, FL

The task

Build a full media wall in a large living room: built-in shelving on both sides, a fireplace and TV in the center, and enough presence to anchor a big open room.

What we built

The wall is organized around a tall center section and two built-in bookcases. The center is faced in a stone-look finish, with a linear electric fireplace low in the wall and a wood mantel shelf running above it. The TV is mounted above the mantel.

On each side, a built-in bookcase rises close to the ceiling. The lower part of each one is closed cabinets, which hide remotes, consoles and everything else a living room collects. Above them are open shelves, each lit with a warm LED strip, so the shelving glows in the evening and the wall still looks balanced when the TV is off.

The photos show the build in stages: the casework installed and primed, then the stone-look center going up, then the lighting and the finished room. The fireplace and the shelf lighting were wired by a licensed Florida electrician.

Timeline and budget

Built in 5 working days in February 2026. Project budget: about $12,000, in the upper part of our $4,500–16,000 range for TV media walls. Two full-height built-ins with lighting are what push a wall like this up the range.
