The task
Cover a wall roughly 5 feet wide and 10 feet tall with large-format porcelain so it reads like one continuous piece of marble, with a TV mounted on it afterward.
What we did
Large slabs are unforgiving: they are heavy, they show every uneven spot in the wall behind them, and the vein pattern only works if the pieces go up in the right order. Before setting anything, the wall was checked and prepared so the slabs would sit flat.
The slabs were cut on site and set from the bottom up from a temporary work platform. The photos taken during installation show leveling clips at every joint; they hold neighboring slabs flush while the adhesive cures and come off once it has set. Getting the faces flush keeps light from catching on the joints, which is the difference between a wall that looks like stone and one that looks like tile.
The veining was matched across the joints so the eye follows the pattern rather than the seams. Once the wall was finished, the TV went up on the slab.

Timeline and budget
Done in 3 working days in April 2026. Project budget: about $5,500. That is below our usual $8,000–18,000 range for porcelain slab feature walls, because this wall is compact — about 50 square feet — with no fireplace, lighting or built-ins. Bigger walls and media walls built around slabs land inside the range.
